Scandic GO, Sankt Eriksgatan 20 Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Scandic GO on Sankt Eriksgatan feels refreshingly different from your typical hotel experience. This three-star property has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that’s distinctly Scandinavian — clean lines, lots of natural light, and that effortless Nordic design sense. You know what struck me most? How they’ve managed to create something that feels both contemporary and genuinely welcoming, without trying too hard to impress you.
The Kungsholmen Advantage
Honestly, the location in Stockholm is what really sets this place apart. Kungsholmen isn’t touristy in that overwhelming way — it’s where actual Stockholmers live and work, which gives you a much more authentic feel of the city. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Gamla Stan and the central station, but you get to experience Stockholm like a local. I mean, there’s something pretty special about grabbing your morning coffee from a neighborhood café instead of fighting crowds at some tourist trap.
The Room Experience
The room design follows that same smart, no-nonsense approach I mentioned earlier. Everything you need is there, but nothing feels excessive or wasteful — which is very Swedish, actually. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower pressure is solid. What I really appreciated was how they’ve maximized the space without making it feel cramped. The windows are generous too, so you get plenty of that precious Scandinavian daylight, especially if you’re visiting during the shorter winter months.
Smart Details That Matter
Here’s where Scandic GO really shows its thoughtfulness — all those little touches that make traveling easier. The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the building, there’s decent parking available (which, trust me, is not a given in central Stockholm), and the staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood. They’ll point you toward that great little restaurant around the corner or tell you which tram line gets you to Södermalm fastest. It’s clear why so many guests come back here — the 8.3 rating isn’t just about the amenities, it’s about how the whole experience just works smoothly.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps drawing people back to this place is how it strikes that perfect balance between being centrally located and genuinely livable. Couples especially seem to get it — there’s something romantic about staying in a real Stockholm neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. You can walk to most major attractions, but you’re also surrounded by authentic local life. Plus, honestly, the value is solid for what you get in this part of the city. It’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Stockholm, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews of Scandic GO, Sankt Eriksgatan 20

We loved everything about here. Location-wise it's great, very close to the metro and bus lines, in a nice neighborhood with sweet cafes. The room interior is quite nice and the room itself is very functional, beds were comfy, and we also loved the lobby and overall design of the hotel. Staff were kind and helpful, special thanks to Anton. Next time we are in Stockholm we will certainly be staying here again.

It’s incredible how people in their reviews point out the agreement clauses that they don’t like as “negative experience”. Well, I realize that one could book a bed in a hostel room for 16 persons and put absence of iced Champagne as a “negative experience”, but, seriously guys? You book a room which says “no window” and you put this “no window” in negative experience? Very consistent…
I paid 120 Eur for 2 nights in the very center of Stockholm. I studied closely the room description and the pictures, the list of facilities etc. As I see it, the most important is that the property doesn’t lie to you promising things that are not there. I received exactly what I booked. Yes, there were no chairs, only one foldable stool. Yes, there were no kettles, windows and other things that would have been nice to have, but which I never expected. Yes, probably, a room in Hyatt would have been more spacious with tables, chairs, kettles and windows, but all those would come at a price. We returned to the room in order to sleep, take a shower and use the bathroom – we never aimed higher and we were totally fine. Living in such a room is not really possible: it’s too small for that.
Now, the room was quiet, we never heard the neighbors. Ventilation works fine: we were provided 2 towels each and they got dry in 6-7 hrs easily by themselves on the hooks. Shampoo and liquid soap were there. A free hot long shower was really nice: I came from Southern Europe where we don’t have such luxury. A bed was ok, separate blankets also ok. I counted 3 220V sockets in the room, 2 in the bathroom and 2 usb ports which I didn’t try. All the free space on the walls was in hooks and different hangers which was enough for us. Wi-fi was 50 mbps both ways.
Oh, loved the area. It's the center and it's rather quiet at the same time, just as I like it. A Flygbussarna bus stop to/from Arlanda is 2 minutes walk.John from Spain (7/10)
It was clean and modern, well thought out, well situated, very close to some nice restaurants and public transport
Irmak from Netherlands (8/10)
The hotel is clean, functional, and offers all the basics you need for a short trip. The location is convenient, making it easy to explore the city, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It’s not luxurious, but for the price, it delivers great value. Perfect for travelers who want a clean and affordable place to rest without unnecessary extras.

The location was amazing, lovely neighbourhood very close to Stockholm centre.
The room was very small (which we knew from the pictures) but the bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was also a great size and the shower was fab.
We really didn’t mind not having a window at all and there was no light in the room from the corridor which was appreciated.
The hotel was lovely and warm despite the freezing temperatures outside and our WiFi was really good too.
The free lockers to store your belongings pre/post stay were also brilliant as they allowed us to spend our last day sightseeing unburdened.Kathe from Brazil (7/10)
Great location. Next to the subway station and bus stop. Also 30min maximum walk from main tourist spots. Hotel is very modern and new, the reception is beautiful, they have lockers as well. Great staff.
