Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm Overview
First Impressions
Walking into the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel, Stockholm, you immediately understand why this four-star property has such a loyal following. The lobby feels modern without being cold, and honestly, the staff seems genuinely happy to see you — not something you can say about every hotel in Stockholm. What struck me right away was how the place manages to feel both polished and welcoming, which is actually harder to pull off than you’d think.
Location & Getting Around
The location on Nils Ericsons Plan is pretty much perfect if you want to explore Stockholm without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble. You’re right in Norrmalm, which means you can walk to Gamla Stan in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close enough to the Central Station that getting anywhere else is a breeze. I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a 9.5 for good reason — you’ve got that sweet spot between being central and being able to actually enjoy some quiet when you want it. The waterfront views don’t hurt either, especially if you snag a room facing the right direction.
The Room Experience
Here’s where this place really shines — the beds are legitimately some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in Stockholm. People rave about them for a reason, and after spending a few nights there, I get it. The rooms themselves are clean-lined and functional, with enough space that you don’t feel like you’re living in a closet. The bathrooms are well-designed too, though nothing too fancy — just everything you need done right. You know what I appreciated? The blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial during those bright Swedish summer nights.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast setup here is honestly impressive — they’ve got everything from continental basics to vegan and gluten-free options, plus you can grab something to go if you’re rushing out to catch a ferry or train. The buffet is well-stocked without being overwhelming, and the restaurant staff keeps everything fresh throughout the morning. I particularly liked that they don’t make you feel rushed, even during busy periods. The coffee is solid too, which matters more than people realize when you’re trying to fuel up for a day of sightseeing.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back — and there are definitely more repeat guests here than at most Stockholm hotels — is how the Radisson Blu Waterfront just gets the basics right while adding those little touches that matter. The parking situation is sorted if you’re driving, the location score of 9.5 speaks for itself, and the whole experience feels reliable without being boring. It’s the kind of place where you can focus on exploring Stockholm instead of worrying about whether your hotel is going to deliver. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a city break.
