Elite Palace Hotel & Spa Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Elite Palace Hotel & Spa on Sankt Eriksgatan, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. The building has this elegant Stockholm charm that doesn’t try too hard — it’s sophisticated without being stuffy. I mean, the name might sound a bit grand, but honestly, the place lives up to it. The entrance feels welcoming rather than intimidating, which I really appreciated after a long day of travel. The lobby sets the tone for what’s to come, with tasteful furnishings and attentive staff ready to assist.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s great about Vasastan? It’s where actual Stockholmers live, not just tourists wandering around with maps. This four-star hotel sits right in the heart of this vibrant neighborhood, and you’re genuinely in the thick of local life. Stockholm feels accessible from here — you can walk to the city center, but you’re also surrounded by cozy cafes and local shops that most visitors never discover. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 8.2), and I can see why. There’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets in the evening. The neighborhood truly captures the essence of Swedish urban living.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Swedish hotel — clean lines, thoughtful design, and everything actually works. The beds are properly comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms have that Scandinavian attention to detail that makes you feel pampered. What I didn’t expect was how quiet everything was, considering you’re on a fairly busy street. The soundproofing is clearly something they’ve invested in, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to recover from jet lag. Natural light floods through the windows, creating a serene atmosphere.

Food & Dining

The breakfast situation here is actually impressive — and I say that as someone who’s usually skeptical of hotel breakfast claims. They’ve got everything from continental basics to full English options, plus they’re serious about accommodating dietary restrictions. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free — it’s all there and done properly, not as an afterthought. The restaurant gets consistently good feedback from guests, and after eating there twice, I understand why. The food feels authentically Swedish without being overly precious about it. Seasonal menus showcase local ingredients beautifully.

Why Guests Love It

There’s a spa that’s perfect for unwinding after exploring the city — nothing too elaborate, but exactly what you need. The staff genuinely seem to care about your experience, which you notice in small ways throughout your stay. Plus, having private parking in Stockholm is actually a bigger deal than you might think if you’re driving. The 8.1 rating makes sense when you add it all up — it’s the kind of place that gets the details right without making a big show of it. You leave feeling like you’ve experienced real Stockholm hospitality, not just stayed at another hotel. This hotel delivers on its promise consistently.

Reviews of Elite Palace Hotel & Spa

  • Myra from New Zealand (9/10)

I stayed in room 700 1 bed apartment – it was large, windows opened and had lovely view. prior to that I had been allocated a room on the same floor that was quiet but faced into a courtyard was dark and not great. the staff were fantastic and arranged a room swap once another became available. highly recommend room 700 or 701. I stayed during Autumn so the heat was not an issue. loved the staff and breakfasts were fantastic. Had wine and food from next door in the lounge / bar area – food next door was out the gate ( great). Easy location to walk to Karolinska institute and Metro.
