Bo Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Bo Hotel on Arenavägen, you’ll notice it doesn’t try to be flashy — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits in the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör district, which might sound unfamiliar if you’re not from Stockholm, but trust me, the location works brilliantly. The building has that clean Scandinavian aesthetic without being sterile, and there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup. The hotel welcomes guests year-round with its straightforward approach to hospitality.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about this area — you’re actually in a real Stockholm neighborhood, not some touristy bubble. The couples who stay here seem to get it (they rate the location 9.1, which is pretty impressive), and I can see why. You’ve got the Globen area nearby, which means easy access to events and that iconic spherical arena, plus the metro connections are solid. It’s one of those spots where you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. The district offers authentic local experiences with cafes, shops, and cultural venues within walking distance.
Inside Your Room
The room I stayed in was compact but thoughtfully designed — very Swedish in that efficient way. Everything you need is there without excess clutter, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable for a mid-range hotel. The bathroom was modern and clean, though don’t expect a massive space to spread out all your stuff. What I appreciated most was how quiet it was at night, which isn’t always guaranteed in Stockholm hotels. Natural light streams through the windows, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the day.
Getting Around
Transportation from Bo Hotel is actually one of its strongest points — recent guests consistently rate it 8.9 for location, and after staying there, I get why. The Globen metro station isn’t far, and from there you can reach Gamla Stan or the central shopping areas in about 15-20 minutes. I mean, you’re not walking to the Royal Palace, but the trade-off is you’re paying less and staying somewhere that feels more authentic. The surrounding area is well-connected by public transit, making exploration convenient and affordable.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me about this place is how it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. You’re getting solid value in a neighborhood that locals actually live in, with reliable transport links and a genuinely peaceful atmosphere. The staff seems to understand that travelers want practical comfort over flashy amenities, and they nail that balance. It’s particularly great for couples who want to explore Stockholm without breaking the bank — you’ll have money left over for those expensive Swedish dinners and maybe a few visits to the city’s excellent museums. Bo Hotel represents an honest, no-nonsense choice for discerning travelers.
Early hotels booking in Stockholm secures Lucia concerts, ice-skating nights, and aurora boat safaris.
