The couples who stay here clearly know something — they’ve rated the location 9.3 out of 10, and after spending a few days wandering around, I totally understand why. The neighborhood offers easy access to museums, theaters, and the charming Gamla Stan old town.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what I expected from a well-run Scandic property — functional, clean, and surprisingly comfortable. The bed was firm in that perfect Swedish way, and the blackout curtains actually worked (which matters when you’re dealing with those endless summer nights). The bathroom was compact but efficient, with good water pressure and those little touches that show someone’s paying attention. Nothing flashy, but everything you actually need for a solid night’s sleep in the city. The thoughtful amenities and quality linens make each evening truly restful.

The breakfast buffet here is where Scandic really shows its strengths. I mean, Swedish hotels generally do breakfast well, but this one had that perfect balance of local specialties and international options. Fresh bread, quality coffee, and — this might sound small, but it matters — the scrambled eggs were actually fluffy and warm. The dining area gets busy around 8 AM, so if you’re not a morning person, either get there early or wait until after 9:30. The restaurant staff keeps everything well-stocked throughout the morning service, ensuring every guest starts their day properly fueled.

  Most of the hotel staff on reception and in the bar/restaurant area were very professional and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with loads of different choices of food and drink that was very nice quality as well. The room was clean and I had a great view over Stockholm. Location was excellent – very close to Hotorget tube station (once you get your bearings). TV in room was very simple to use and worked fine – no issues. Hotel wifi easy and no issues. I was given an upgrade by man on reception – thank you:) Also, I had no idea that the hotel was situated just literally round the corner from a beautiful church! This proved invaluable as I was trying to find my way around and used this church as my landmark. It was also lovely to visit inside the church as an additional attraction.
