Scandic Anglais Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Scandic Anglais, you immediately sense you’re in one of Stockholm’s more established neighborhoods — there’s something reassuringly solid about this four-star property on Humlegårdsgatan. The lobby has that understated Scandinavian elegance you’d expect, but it’s the location that really hits you first. I mean, you’re literally in Östermalm, which is honestly one of the best areas to base yourself in Stockholm if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.
Location & Neighborhood
The location here is genuinely exceptional — couples consistently rate it over 9 out of 10, and I can see why. You’re a short walk from Humlegården park, which locals actually use for their morning runs and weekend picnics, not just tourists taking photos. The upscale shopping along Biblioteksgatan is practically around the corner, and you know what’s great? You can walk to Gamla Stan in about 15 minutes, but you’re staying somewhere that feels authentically Stockholm rather than touristy. The neighborhood has that perfect mix of residential charm and urban energy that makes you want to explore on foot.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Scandic Anglais strike that sweet spot between modern comfort and Scandinavian practicality. Nothing feels overdone or trying too hard — just clean lines, good lighting, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about how travelers live in a space. The beds are properly comfortable (which honestly isn’t always a given, even in nice hotels), and the bathrooms are well-designed without being flashy. What I particularly appreciated was how quiet the rooms stay despite being in central Stockholm — the windows do their job well.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast buffet here is the kind that makes you want to linger over your coffee and plan your day properly. It’s comprehensive without being overwhelming — fresh bread, good coffee, and those Scandinavian breakfast staples that somehow taste better when you’re actually in Scandinavia. There’s parking available if you’re driving, which is actually pretty valuable in this part of Stockholm where street parking can be a real headache. The hotel has that reliable, well-run feeling that comes from experience — they know what they’re doing here.
Why Guests Love It
What really stands out about this place is the repeat guest factor — people genuinely come back, which tells you something about the overall experience. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Stockholm, but it delivers consistently on the things that actually matter: location, comfort, and service that doesn’t feel forced. The combination of being in Östermalm with easy access to everything else, plus that reliable Scandic quality, creates something that works particularly well for travelers who want to experience Stockholm properly rather than just tick off the major sights.
Exploring Stockholm layers royal palaces, archipelago breezes, and twilight walks beneath pastel skies.

Valerija from Latvia (9/10)
I wasn't sure what to expect of the windowless room, but it was quite alright, considering the price and awesome location. There was a small kettle with several bags of tea and instant coffee. The soundproofing was mostly fine.
