Queen’s Hotel by First Hotels Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Queen’s Hotel by First Hotels, you immediately get that feeling of stepping into something that’s been thoughtfully put together without trying too hard. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, it punches above its weight in ways that matter. The lobby has this clean Scandinavian vibe — not sterile, just uncluttered — and the staff actually seems genuinely happy to see you, which isn’t always a given in Stockholm.

The Perfect Norrmalm Spot

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re right on Drottninggatan, which means you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing without dealing with the T-bana unless you want to. Gamla Stan is maybe a 10-minute stroll, and you know what? That walk along the water never gets old. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 9.6, and I mean, they’re not wrong). You’ve got that perfect balance where you’re in the thick of things but can still find quiet corners when you need them.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was compact but smart — very Swedish in that way where every inch serves a purpose. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and I actually slept well despite being right in the city center. What struck me was how they managed to make a smaller space feel airy with those big windows and light colors. The bathroom was modern and clean, though if you’re someone who needs a lot of counter space for your toiletries, you might need to get creative.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

I’ll be honest — hotel breakfasts can be hit or miss, but this one actually impressed me. They’ve got the full spread covered: continental options, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, the works. It’s buffet style, which some people aren’t crazy about, but the quality is solid and there’s enough variety that you won’t get bored if you’re staying multiple nights. The coffee is proper Swedish strong, and they had fresh fruit that actually tasted like it was supposed to.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets the fundamentals right in a way that makes your Stockholm trip better rather than just providing a place to sleep. The location alone — being able to walk to Östermalm for shopping, down to Södermalm for dinner, or just wander the old town whenever the mood strikes — that’s worth a lot. Plus, with an 8.1 rating, it’s clear other travelers are finding the same sweet spot I did between price, location, and quality. It’s the kind of place where you spend your time exploring the city instead of trying to figure out how to get around, and honestly, isn’t that what a good city hotel should do?
