ProfilHotels Riddargatan Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to ProfilHotels Riddargatan on a quiet street in Östermalm, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical tourist hotel. The building has that understated Swedish elegance — nothing flashy, but everything feels intentional and well-considered. I mean, this is a four-star property that clearly knows its audience, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering if you want to experience Stockholm like locals do rather than just ticking off the major sights.

The Östermalm Advantage

Here’s what I love about staying in this neighborhood — you’re genuinely in one of Stockholm’s most desirable areas, but it doesn’t feel touristy at all. Östermalm is where well-heeled Stockholmers actually live and shop, so you’ll find yourself wandering past beautiful boutiques and cozy cafés that aren’t mentioned in guidebooks. The couples who stay here clearly get it (they rate the location 9.5, which honestly makes perfect sense), because you can walk to Stureplan for nightlife, stroll through Humlegården park, or catch the metro to Gamla Stan in just a few minutes.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had that clean, minimalist Scandinavian design you’d expect, but with enough warmth to avoid feeling sterile. What struck me was the attention to detail — good lighting for actually reading, proper blackout curtains (essential during those bright summer nights), and a bathroom that felt more spacious than the square footage should have allowed. You know what’s refreshing? Everything just works properly, from the WiFi to the air conditioning, which sounds basic but isn’t always guaranteed even at this level.

Morning Rituals

The breakfast buffet is where this place really shows its Swedish roots — and I mean that in the best way possible. Sure, you’ll find the usual continental options, but there’s also proper gravlax, different types of herring, and really good coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since dawn. I actually found myself lingering over breakfast most mornings, partly because the dining area has this calm, unhurried atmosphere that sets a nice tone for the day. It’s the kind of place where you might overhear conversations in three different languages, but somehow it never feels chaotic.

Why Guests Love It

There’s something to be said for a hotel that attracts repeat guests — and this one definitely does that more than most places I’ve stayed. I think it comes down to consistency and that rare quality of feeling both polished and genuinely welcoming. The staff seems to actually remember preferences, the neighborhood rewards exploration, and you’re never dealing with crowds of tour groups in the lobby. For travelers who want to experience Stockholm’s sophisticated side without paying premium prices, ProfilHotels Riddargatan hits that sweet spot where everything feels effortless, even though you know there’s careful planning behind it all.

Hotel in Stockholm reservations spike before fashion week when runways and showrooms fill Södermalm lofts.

Reviews of ProfilHotels Riddargatan

  • Vasyukris90 from Finland (9/10)

Very good location: I would say it is a city center.
Nice personal: friendly, helping, speak English.
We were traveling with the dog and the hotel is dog friendly, even there are dog cookies and water, towels in the enterance. We see that for the first time! Easy thing but very 👍.
Room is bigger than usually hotels have. Very big nice window, but at the same time good, almost blackout curtains.
Breakfast was also very good (nothing special, but not cheap at all and great variety).
It was very rainy day and we were all morning outside before the check-in time, but they prepared our room earlier and let us in before the actual time! It was very kind, especially because we were with the small baby and a dog.

  • Carly from United Kingdom (8/10)

Staff were very helpful and available 24/7. Room is a nice size and the heated floors in the bathroom were a nice touch especially after a cold day! Hotel location is good, walkable to most sights and only 5 minutes from the tram.

  • Victoria from United States (8/10)

The location, size of room and especially the breakfast are excellent! We could go on about the breakfast as the selection was fabulous and the hours great. The bathroom had been modernized and redone which was great. Seems like they are working through improvements. .
