Hotel Point Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Point on Östgötagatan, you’ll notice it doesn’t try too hard to impress — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits comfortably in Södermalm, and while it won’t blow you away with flashy lobbies or marble everything, there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the place. The entrance is clean and welcoming, with staff who actually seem to know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations.
The Södermalm Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Stockholm — you’re right in the thick of things without feeling like you’re in a tourist bubble. Södermalm has this perfect mix of vintage shops, cozy cafés, and actual locals going about their day. From Hotel Point, you can easily walk to Gamla Stan (the old town) in about fifteen minutes, but you’re also close to some of Stockholm’s best bars and restaurants that most tourists never find. The location score of 8.9 makes total sense when you realize how connected you are to everything that matters.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call “efficiently comfortable” — they’re not huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out. You know what I mean? Everything you need is there, the bed is actually comfortable (not always a given at this price point), and the bathrooms are modern enough. The windows are decent-sized, so you get good natural light during those long Stockholm summer days. It’s the kind of room where you’ll sleep well and not feel cramped, even if you’re not planning to spend much time lounging around.
Morning Fuel
The buffet breakfast is honestly better than I expected for a three-star place. They’ve got the Swedish classics covered — good bread, quality cheese and cold cuts, plus some hot options that actually taste fresh. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but it’ll definitely fuel you up for a day of exploring Stockholm. The breakfast area gets decent morning light, and there’s usually space to sit without feeling rushed, which is more than I can say for some pricier hotels I’ve stayed at.
Why Guests Love It
What really stands out is how couples seem to gravitate toward this place — they rate the location 9.0 for romantic trips, and I get it. Södermalm has this intimate, village-like feel despite being in the heart of a major city. You can stroll the cobblestone streets, duck into wine bars, and feel like you’ve discovered something special together. The hotel itself doesn’t get in the way of that experience — it’s comfortable, reliable, and positioned perfectly for exploring. Plus, the 7.6 rating reflects what you’d expect: solid value without any major surprises, good or bad. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want from a Stockholm base.
Savvy travelers reserve a hotel in Stockholm before tech summits electrify waterfront conference hubs.

The restaurant in the ground floor was amazing especially in the evenings, even if you don't use it you will get positive vibe of that anyway. The room was good as well.

Great almost superb location for nightlife. It's the only part of the city where something is happening after 5pm during the winter. Great stuff one of the best I've ever interacted with.good value for money

The hotel was a good stay. We loved the restaurant. The pizza was amazingly delicious and breakfast each morning was delicious with plenty of choices. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was very good, hotel clean and plus we enjoyed discovering the Stockholm community gardens nearby. Recommend a stay.

Short walk from the metro
20 minute walk across the bridge to Gamla Stan
Cool bar and restaurant
Great place to stay for the £80 price tag on a Friday. Pushing that price into the £100 plus category would make this place good. But similar to so many more hotels and less of a pullMajor from United Kingdom (8/10)
