Clarion Collection Hotel Tapetfabriken Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Clarion Collection Hotel Tapetfabriken, you immediately sense there’s something different about this place. The name literally means “wallpaper factory,” and honestly, that industrial heritage shows through in the most charming way possible. This four-star property sits right on Marcusplatsen in Stockholm, and I mean right in the thick of things — you’re basically in Nacka, which feels like a well-kept secret that locals don’t mind sharing with savvy travelers. The hotel’s conversion from its original industrial purpose creates an atmosphere that blends historic character with contemporary hospitality.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you get that authentic Stockholm vibe without the tourist crowds breathing down your neck. Nacka has this relaxed, residential feel, but you’re still connected to central Stockholm via public transport. The couples who stay here seem to get it (they rate the location 8.4, which honestly makes sense), because there’s something romantic about discovering a neighborhood that feels genuinely Swedish. You’ll find yourself wandering tree-lined streets and stumbling upon local cafes that don’t have English menus — in the best possible way. This area offers the perfect balance between peaceful retreat and urban accessibility.

Your Room and the Building’s Character

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of modern comfort and industrial charm. You can tell they’ve thoughtfully converted this old factory space — high ceilings, interesting architectural details, but with all the amenities you actually need. The windows are generous, which matters more than you’d think during those short winter days. What struck me most was how quiet everything felt, despite being so well-connected to the city center. Each space reflects the building’s heritage while providing contemporary comfort and functionality.

Breakfast and Practical Perks

The breakfast here deserves its own paragraph because it’s genuinely impressive. They’ve got continental options, vegetarian choices, gluten-free selections — basically a proper buffet that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. I appreciated that they clearly put effort into accommodating different dietary needs without making it feel clinical or boring. Plus, there’s parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Stockholm by car will tell you is worth its weight in gold. These practical amenities enhance the overall guest experience significantly.

Why Guests Love It

With an 8.8 rating, this place clearly hits the mark for most people, and I can see why. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Stockholm life while still having all the comforts of a well-run hotel. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience — not in that overly rehearsed way, but like they’re actually proud of their neighborhood and want you to enjoy it too. You know what really sealed it for me? Walking back after dinner and realizing I felt like I was coming home rather than just returning to a hotel. This sense of belonging is what truly distinguishes the property.

Inclusion of breakfast and dinner, as well as friendly staff

  • Pedro from Portugal (9/10)

I loved the hotel’s overall design and especially enjoyed the common space—perfect for working, relaxing with a cup of coffee, or simply soaking in the atmosphere. The open layout really provided a sense of freedom and comfort. The food was also quite good, offering a variety of options that suited my taste. The staff, for the most part, were quite friendly and helpful. All in all, a pleasant and productive stay.

  • Vasileios from Greece (9/10)

Excellent hotel about 15 minutes by car from the city's center. The price includes swedish fika, dinner, breakfast and sauna. Polite staff and good meals.

  • Στυλιανός from Greece (8/10)

Great breakfast. Convenient distance from city center. Buses available nearby the hotel for a city center transport.

  • Fenny from Singapore (9/10)

    1. The price includes breakfast and dinner. The breakfast has broad selection. It doesn't change the 3 nights we stayed there but with broad selection, I didn't get bored at all! Dinner has tiny selection yet it's healthy and good enough for me.
    2. The staff all are polite and friendly. Including receptionist, waiter waitress, the guy behind the bar. Ps. Wanted to thank this guy who gave us generous dinner boxes as we arrived late. Sorry I couldn't finish my food because I was just too tired after the long journey

  • Mehmet from Sweden (9/10)

Check-in & check-out was super smooth, access to parking garage was easy. The environment at the lobby was cool and comfortable, I enjoyed spending time there with a couple of drinks. The breakfast was fantastic; plenty of options and everything I tried was tasty. The dinner was also great, i got a super good fish dish.

  • Geary from Czech Republic (9/10)

The staff were first class. Hotel is new and well designed. The food was top. Convenient to have a dinner included when traveling with kids. I prefer this one over the other Clarion Stockholm.

  • Deepak from India (8/10)

The dinner option is really a plus point and decent enough.

  • Jonas from Lithuania (8/10)

Hotel is in a sort of a trendy neighbourhood with shops and restaurabts nearby. The building is nicely renovated, with lots of space in the ground floor lobby / lounge / restaurant area. Breakfast was brilliant with lots to choose from. Dinners were also nice, mostly. Bar lady was friendly and pleasantly extravagant.
